Delete your account and data

You can delete your Close Reader account at any time, right in the app. It takes a few seconds and removes everything we store for your account.

In the app

1. Open Close Reader and go to the Library.
2. Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
3. Open Account, tap Delete account and confirm.

What is deleted

• your account: email address and sign-in identifiers;
• book files uploaded for sync, and book details;
• reading positions, highlights and notes, vocabulary, chat messages and synced settings.

Deletion is immediate and can’t be undone. Copies in our database provider’s backups are overwritten within its backup cycle (currently up to 7 days).

What is not deleted

• Data on your device. Books and notes stored locally stay on the device. To remove them, delete the books in the app or uninstall Close Reader.
• Daily usage counters of AI requests. They contain no content and, after the account is deleted, can no longer be linked to you.

Can’t open the app?

Email ilia@oshn-ai.com from the address linked to your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. If you used Sign in with Apple with “Hide My Email”, write from any address and we will help you confirm the account is yours. We delete the account within 30 days and confirm by email.

No account?

If you never signed in, we store nothing about you except anonymous daily usage counters. Uninstalling the app removes all your data from the device.
